Their traditional occupation was agricultural farming, sheep-herding and weaving.
Meghwals are known for their contribution to embroidery and the textile industry.
Most are Hindu by religion, with Rishi Megh, Kabir, Ram Devji and Bankar Mataji their chief gods.
